Pomegranates are so in right now.
Literally, they’re in season right now. And they’re also super trendy! You can’t scroll through Food Gawker without a recipe featuring poms. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining.
Pomegranates, to me, are a work of art. The delicate, ruby-shaped seeds look regal enough to sit atop the Queen’s head in Her Majesty’s crown. The inside is a white maze of tiny arils hidden in deep crevices. And the burst of sweet-tart juice from the deep red arils…swoon.
I mean really, is there anything as beautiful as the pomegranate? I’m not quite sure there is.

While they’re in season, I try to use pomegranates as much as possible. Sprinkled on salads, studded in frozen yogurt, and of course mixed into cocktails.
Pomegranate is a fabulous flavor for cocktails that often gets overlooked because of the difficulty to find pomegranate juice in the past. Fortunately for us, pomegranate juice is getting suuuuper popular, and it’s pretty easy to find now in your regular grocery store!
The cocktail I’ve been sippin’ on lately is this pomegranate white wine spritzer–and it couldn’t be easier to make. You don’t even really need to measure, if you didn’t want to. Eyeballing it works just fine for this recipe!
Pomegranate White Wine SpritzerWith just four simple ingredients–pomegranate juice, white wine, club soda, and pomegranate arils for garnish–this is a drink that can be made quickly and easily. No shaker required, woohoo!
Try to find pomegranate juice with no added sugar (believe me, pom juice is sweet enough). If you have a hard time finding it, look for a pomegranate-cranberry blend. That’s often very easy to find in any grocery store.
This pretty pink cocktail is a burst of flavor that isn’t too sweet, nor too tart. It’s the perfect balance that only the unique pomegranate flavor can offer.

  • ¼ cup no sugar added pomegranate juice
  • ½ cup white wine of choice (I recommend Riesling--not too sweet or too dry)
  • ¼ cup club soda

  1. Pour juice, white wine and club soda into a glass give it a quick stir.
  2. Garnish with as many pomegranate arils as your heart desires!
Drink ratio is 2 parts white wine to 1 part club soda and 1 part pomegranate juice. Feel free to play around with this ratio to suit your taste.
