The Easiest Meatball Subs–and a giveaway!

I hope you all are having an awesome holiday weekend! We are down in Pensacola enjoying some relaxing time on the beach. We indulged in some jet skiing, boogie boarding, fresh seafood (can’t beat it), time with friends, and fireworks!

It’s been the perfect end to a wonderful summer. I hope you all celebrated this holiday weekend doing whatever makes you relax—you deserve it.

These are the easiest meatballs to make but still so scrumptious. It’s the perfect meal to make if you don’t have much time to cook lunch/dinner, but still want to impress those who are eating it.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
½ cup Italian-style bread crumbs
¼ cup milk
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic chopped
1 egg
1 tablespoon olive oil
8 slices of mozzarella cheese
1 jar of your favorite marinara sauce
1 loaf of French or Italian bread

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 13×9-inch pan.
  2. In large bowl, mix beef, bread crumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and egg.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Shape beef into 1.5 inch balls.
  5. Brown the balls in skillet (30-45 seconds per side).
  6. Place meatballs in the greased pan, about an inch apart. Cover with marinara sauce and toss the balls until well coated.
  7. Bake uncovered for 18-22 minutes, or until no longer pink inside.meatball subs
  8. Take meatballs out of oven and preheat your broiler to high.
  9. Cut your loaf of bread into 4 pieces.
  10. Stuff each piece with meatballs and 2 slices of cheese.
  11. Place subs on an ungreased cookie tray and place in oven.
  12. Place in oven for 30 second to 1 minute, or until cheese is melted. (Stay right next to your oven while subs are in broiler, the bread will burn if you leave it in longer than 30 seconds to 1 minute!)
  13. Dig in!
