2014 Holiday Decoration Tour Blog Hop

Christmas is my ABSOLUTE favorite time of the year. Favorite, favorite, favorite. So when I was invited to be on this amazing holiday decoration tour, I quickly signed up! As some of you may know, we only just moved into our new house at the end of October, so we’re not as decked out as usual this year because most of our time has been devoted to unpacking, painting and getting everything situated. But I still love the way our house looks right now with all of the amazing decorations and Christmas cheer!

I’m just going to get right into the photos! This is the overview of the living room. One of the main reasons we bought this house is for this room. We love the shelving space and how big it is. I specifically love that I now have a mantel to decorate!

I’m seriously in love with this “Merry Christmas” banner that my mom sent us. At first I thought it would hang on the mantel, but then there was no room for the stockings–and we needed to have stockings on the mantel! So this beautiful banner found it’s home on the entertainment center. On both sides of the banner are some of our favorite Christmas stories!

Steve had that painting commissioned a few years ago, and I think it goes perfectly with our decorations, especially because we live in Colorado now! It didn’t really make sense on our wall in New Orleans because it was always so hot there. But now, it’s perfect!

No offense to you fake tree people, but I just love a real tree! I love the smell of it, the look of it, the lack of assembly, etc. etc. And we’re a big believer in using ornaments that have meaning and history, so all of the ornaments on the tree are personal and special to us.

Next are some of our kitchen decorations. All of them are so adorable so I can’t pick a favorite, but if I had to, it would be these adorable owl towels.

I found this Advent calendar banner at Hobby Lobby a few months back for $2.00! I bought it immediately, even though it was still September. It made the move from New Orleans to Denver, and finally found it’s home on our wall. I love it! The pom poms and the mittens are just adorable.christmas tour 2014 (13 of 23)

christmas tour 2014 (14 of 23)This Winnie the Pooh Advent Calendar is very special to me, we used it when I was growing up, so when my mom sent it to me I know it needed to be front and center.

Luckily we got some snowfall yesterday, which makes our outdoor decorations look even more Christmasy! We won’t be here for a bulk of the Christmas holiday, so we didn’t go crazy outside with lights and decorations, but I think the ones we chose are just adorable.christmas tour 2014 (17 of 23)

What a sweet tour! I totally love your Merry Christmas banner, especially the plaid accent letters, so fun :) The snow looks so festive. Here in Chicago we are pretty snow-less, who knows maybe we’ll get some in time for Christmas ;)

Thank you so much! I’m happy the snow added a bit to my decor–I love it! I’ll be sending you some good snow vibes.

I couldn’t agree more, Bre! We have such a great time unpacking everything because it brings back memories!

I love your beautiful front porch and snowy trees! So idyllic. And the real tree. I am jealous! Our first year of marriage, I convinced my husband we HAD to have a real tree. When we got it home enormous bugs, the likes of which I had never seen and have never seen since, flew out and began dive-bombing our house. Ever after it’s been fake trees for us! Hahaha. Love this tour- so fun to be joining you! xo, Laura

Thanks, Erica! I don’t want to ever take my Christmas decorations down. They make it feel so cozy in here.
